Fall 2024
Converse University is an institution rooted in its mission to empower students to become transformative leaders who see clearly, decide wisely, and act justly. We are a place where timeless values, new ideas, and varied perspectives converge, and our interactions should reflect an openness to be considerate of one another’s viewpoints.
Fall is an incredibly exciting time to be on a college campus, especially as we plan for national elections this November. Many of our students will be voting for the first time in a presidential election! In this season of differing perspectives, we have an incredible opportunity to cultivate critical thinking skills and deepen our culture of inclusivity and belonging.
I encourage you to register to vote, learn about the candidates and their positions, and engage in open and civil conversations about the issues facing our nation and our world. Embrace your role as a leader with the intent to model Converse’s seven core values of excellence, integrity, exploration, diversity, respect, community, and progress.
As we start this academic year, let’s dedicate ourselves to not only excelling in our individual pursuits but to fostering an engaged and active campus community built on respect and understanding.
Student success is at the center of everything we do. We hold fast to the history and mission of Converse, and together we will continue pursuing our vision of providing rich educational experiences that ignite creativity, innovation, and transformation and that are open to all. I am excited to see what we will accomplish together in the coming months.
I hope you will continue to stay connected with Converse. Whether by playing in our upcoming golf tournament, attending one of the Carlos Moseley Series concerts, or by supporting The Converse Fund.
Together, we will make this year a memorable and transformative experience for everyone.
Go Valkyries!
